Although this song is "worldly" but i've changed nothing but just capped it to symbolise God.
Today's sermon was especially close to my heart.
Although Rev. Simon preached about the prodigal's son.
But I liked his different approach, which is to concentrate on the prodigal's son distractions.
Now it explains why this song lyrics I've pasted above.
I find it especially encouraging and refreshing.
The worldy distractions are just too overwhelming, even in church.
We aren't perfect, we are still humans bound to be distracted.
A few kinds of distractions that he named it powerful : Physical, Spiritual[service], emotional, visual & audio.
Actually, the conclusion I drew for myself is that if you've just got one distraction, you've got it all.
Repent or remorse? Submitting or demanding? trusting or arguing?
Indeed, Becareful little Eyes what you see, Becareful little ears what you hear, etc. for the Father up above is looking down on earth...
I thank God for the opportunity to invest my fridays to attend Romans Bible study.
Since it's not Mon or Weds, coz when I start school, I might not be able to commit.
I thank God for the chance to learn Romans so in depth.
This is how God is so detailed when he spoke.
One verse alone speak for alot of things that you might missed.
2 things I'm reminded is that:
We sing:
Dear wonderful Jesus, Saviour divine.
We are the branches, you are the vine.
You brought us salvation and made the sun shine.
Dear wonderful saviour, marvellous friend, I'm glad You are mine. :)
Sometimes, when we are serving do we forget who is the vine and what are we ?
I learnt that :
i've to be humble at all times, reminding ourselves not to let our head grow big to think that we are smarter than God.
When we are serving God, our focus should be that Jesus should increase and I must decrease.
Secondly,
We are called before the foundation of the world. [Predestined]
Not when we are born or has received Christ.
He knew us before we knew him,
just like how He knew Paul but Paul did not knew Him.
And He called Paul to be an apostle. [messenger & ambassador for Christ]
So likewise, God has paved Paul's way, that include ours.
The just shall live by faith! :)
I've pretty much enjoyed the stay over at Gwyneth house for the ladies meeting :)
It was also challenging, after having learnt about what it takes to be a Proverbs 31 woman.
Phew! it's really tiring to be a woman. Not sure if I ever wanna be a man anyway. Haa
Guessed i've scared too many away "grins".
That's why it says this way and not the opp. : Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
It was a nice experience having to learnt to bake Macaroni Cheese. :)
This week sums up a week of fruitful lessons that i've taken home.
God spoke in different ways and timings, even if at a point I didn't understood why He did.
I guessed, I should take things slower and filter those that needs to be filter out.
Now my head feels lighter with almost all my problems somehow quite settled.
Well.. never run away from God, He is faster than you..
Always waiting at the ending point to call you back home. :)
Give up all and take up the cross daily.
